Final Thoughts About Customer Reviews
In 2016 I made the mistake of taking on the wrong client, who after we completed his project, did his very best to destroy us and our business. He nearly succeeded> He stole our work by moving his files and initiating a chargeback (Paypal does not offer seller protection for services) He accused me of being an ax-murdering rapist on several platforms, sued me and never showed up in court, and even sent police to my door stating I threatened to kill him.
To say this smear campaign shook my confidence levels to the core would be an understatement. It also took my focus off of my business and onto protecting my reputation. His rants were offensive, outrageous and over the top.
For the most part, every single one of his reviews was removed. The fake reviews he had friends put up were also removed. Two remain to this day. Both have my response.
Here Is My Secret
I responded quickly and flagged the reviews and notified the review body of the specific terms of service that the review violated. Policy violation is the only surefire way I know to get a bad review removed. Fortunately, this individual made that easy to do.
Secondly and this is crucial, I reached out to a number of clients and enlisted their help in offsetting his bad review with several good ones.
